WP Nightly本地化、声明及看法
既然看到“靠靠”（中文WP的论坛）有朋友推荐我的1.3本地化，我觉得就应该明确一下，不然好多朋友来了一头雾水。最早在我的“l10n for wp 1.3 nightly build”（就不给URI了，自己找一下，免得Ping过去了）这篇文章中放出的是基于1202版本的本地化，当时WP1.3处于alpha-5后期，因为是Nightly嘛，每夜一版，特别是进入到Alpha-6阶段后，有了一些变化，我的老汉化可能有部分地方不再适应其发展变化了。但实际上，我自己有点“升级狂”，一般几天跟进一次Nightly，再加上心情好，时间宽裕的话，就同时把本地化作一次，因为有以前的基础，每次的工作量不算很大，新增条目一般不会太多，主要是校对和审核，然后拿自己做实验（其实WP本地化没有任何的危险），所以我的Nightly本地化基本上是同步走的，可能要慢几天（一般Nightly没有大的动作的话，对本地化影响很小）。
但是我不能老写Blog表明我进展到哪月哪天的版本了，毕竟本地化仅仅是突破语言障碍一个桥梁，包括Blog程序自身及其功能和新功能，都是次要的，都是为Blog内容服务的，写好Blog，提高Blog内容质量让Blog更精彩才是最根本的事情，我想这也是Blog存在的意义。

- 基本与Nightly同步
- 因为放在我自己的语言目录下，就恕不再另外提供PO文件
- 因为1.3新的theme机制的原因，如果你安装了别的主题，那么将无法顾及到前台的汉化

前段Lemonhall兄在中文WP写了“中文WP需要什么？”提出了以下观点：
marvinux提出：
外国的blog追求简朴，而中国人多追求花巧功能强大。所以，如果可以的话，应该集更多人手，以WP为架构，重新开发一个本土化的WP(wp不也是从B2改过的吗？)，而不是单单的汉化。这样不但可以不会再跟在外国人的后面，而且是WP在本地推广的最好途径。
其实我觉得我们并没有在跟着老外走，这世界已经如此之小了。根本没有谁跟谁的现象存在。从开发产品的角度来看，国人也做了很多优秀的BLOG程序。而为什么我们选择了WP而不是它们呢，并不是说国人开发的程序不优秀。而是WP有很多吸引我们的闪光点，比如说：它的开发队伍较国人更活跃，性能好、等等，不一而足。
我个人认为工作的重点是增加终端用户，将WP本地化应该是帮助两类用户的：一类是[开发者]，另一类是[终端用户]。
针对[开发者]，建立WIKI来讨论中文化的具体问题。
针对[终端用户]，建立中文化的安装手册，想办法减轻初级用户的学习曲线。把很多常用的插件，常见的问题[FAQ]，常见的样式，好的主题，好的模板等等收集起来。打包，写手册…..总之，以商业化的软件来要求这些发布包。体现真正的以用户为本的思想！
自己搞一个类似WP的中文Blog程序这个观点我不太赞同，开源软件嘛，本来就没有国界，再组团队，再花时间去搞一个类似程序，资源和人才的浪费啊。因为WP官方对程序的本地化、国际化都是考虑得很充分的。
增加两极用户我们当然高兴，其实国人的开发者也还是有的，比如Legend就为WP写过一个全新的PHP高亮插件，只是国人都不甚张扬，不为人知罢了。以前我还喜欢到处鼓吹WP，现在觉得没有必要刻意去宣传WP，好程序那么多，选择使用什么全靠自己要求和意愿了。WP凭借自身的亮点完全是可以吸引不少用户的。
我倒觉得当前WP用户或者说Blogger们问题是互相之间缺少沟通，很少互相之间进行Track(ping)back的碰撞，各自为政、自我沉浸在自己的Blog上，最多就是跑过来跑过去的回复，最后可能自己都记不住了。国人很少或曰不习惯去思考别人的观点，能够真正展开交流和讨论的Blog（或话题）并不多，在很多Blog中包括我自己的，无意义的回复还是不少的。所以很是羡慕国外一些Blog，很平常的一些话题，Track(ping)back一老长串。当然，这当中也是有很多原因的，毕竟每个Blog关注的内容是不一样的，也许还需要时间建立共同话题（兴趣）的小圈子。
沟通、交流也有可能让庸俗的话题碰撞出智慧的火花。这是其一。
其二，WP1.3新的主题机制带给我们的另一个思考就是Web标准的思考，简单的说就是结构与表现分离。为什么我们不能用中国的文化、思维和审美与WP来一次碰撞，塑造出新的富含本土气息的外观。类似当初WP的CSS大赛（CNWP应该牵个头呀）。这也是普及标准的一个良好方式——其实标准离我们并不遥远。
形式为内容服务，并不说形式就不重要。为什么Kubrick这么广为流传？它一定有它吸引人的地方。

一些小错误:
官方版本就会显示错误, 1.3a6显示成了1.5-alpha-6
后台标题,”›” 这个符号不知道是什么, 在浏览器里显示”?” 是中文包引起的吗?
以下是小小建议:
login 被翻译成 “登录名”
- 翻译成 “登录” 更好一些, 登录页里的 title和按钮, BLOG页里的附加信息段都有显示
rss 可以直接翻译为 “聚合”
- 这样, 留言就会显示 “留言聚合”, 现在大家都应该能理解聚合的意思了.
Valid XHTML 被翻译成XHTML有效
- 意译的话应该是 检查XHTML有效性
comment 被翻成 “留言”
- 也许 “评论” 更习惯些. 大家的BLOG
现在是1.5-a-6，我也是才注意到的(尚不清楚是官方的笔误还是确实为1.5，因为官方论坛上1.5-a-6出现频频，没见有人异议)。
应该是»是»的实体符号，这因为是你程序的问题，与中文无关
login在WP中大部分是表示登录名的意思，是名词，wp-login.php中是把2个login放在一块的，所以翻译出来让我很为难。
rss就不准备翻译了，就和URI、CSS一样是acronym，不翻最好。
valid是形容词，表示有效的XHTML，没有问题吧。
comments留言更通用些吧。
我去新wiki看了，现在的确是跳到1.5版本了，没有错，不是笔误。
我还得去把我的上一个文章的标题改过来，晕，一直就没看清。
因为必须做很烦心的part time，我很勉强的提前学些WP，时不时穿来这里玩看对计算机有些研究的同志们发言，marvinux提到外国的blog追求简朴我觉不出这个，做事思维做事习惯不同引出来的吧，看中文的blog比如说语吁这里，在我很眼花缭乱.还有既然都能看的懂英文，为什么一定要汉化出来用的?

呵呵，随机换2种来看看。反正现在Theme切换很方便。还是Kubrick好点，也倾注了我比较多的心血，改了不少地方。刚才那个淡白色的主题叫manji，我看了源码和CSS，写得很清晰(而且几乎每个地方都给出了注释)。Kubrick有些地方很乱，不少诟病之处。当初争执也很大（manji的一个作者与Michael之间）。kubrick之所以比较成功，我想它在于PS上，可以看出Michael的PS比较NB（他本身是作游戏设计的）。

怎么说呢，因为很多原因。最近很多事情都在停滞状态，自己都觉得很惭愧。TRACKBACK的问题，自己也很烦恼。51.NET那边把PHP关于NETWORK的函数都封了，要发的话，只能去国外的一些网站去手工构造一个PING。很麻烦。
我也试用一下Kubrick，觉得还不错。你这里的讨论很热烈，我的BLOG基本上和生活状态一致，处于停滞状态。看到你，我觉得要加油啦：）
我现在试用Opera8，号称支持CSS3，恰好我这里就有几个CSS3的属性，并没有效果出来。还是Firefox支持呀。
Lemonhall：现在都1.5了，升吧升吧。其实你那里还是不错的，主要是留言审核后导致了冷场（我想的话），用垃圾插件来抵挡吧。我这儿还好，从来没有垃圾来（我什么都没有装），我隔壁兄弟那儿却收到机器人垃圾了，我也搞不懂。

我从CVS服务器上更新到了最新的代码
导出词条819条，不包含theme的时候是801条
我分别用你的po文件和lemonhall的po文件作tm词典进行了翻译对照。
你的po可以自动翻译642条， lemonhall的可以翻译630条。
对比了翻译质量后， 我感觉你翻译的准确度要高一些， 于是准备从你的翻译上面继续进行。
估计你们都用了8月份中文WP上的po包，所以有很多错误非常类似. 我能够理解为什么你们会单独发行自己的po/mo包，因为翻译理解还是存在很多差异。
我检查了一下以前的中文WP的PO包也有很多错误。
比如Error被翻译成 删除错误…
Check Comments Results: 被翻译成 没有符合条件的留言。
Site Admin 翻译成 看看你的网站
甚至有把 filename翻译成档名的台湾译法。
我想我们可以分工合作，针对同一个po文件进行校对， 尽可能把错误都找出来， 合并成一个错误最少的板本， 来给大家使用。（或者合并到你或lemomhall的板本中）
你觉得怎样？
猪猪呀，你怎么就没有明白我的意思呢。汉化仅仅是WP与中文用户之间的一个桥梁，我觉得没有必要过分渲染这个事情，我纯属玩票性质，而且现在Nightly天天在走，不可能拿出一个定案来。除非官方rls一个稳定版，但这也不可能了，因此我已经上了Nightly的船，只有不断跟着走，没有停下来的可能了，除非WP停止开发。所以本地化完全看个人兴趣，就我自己并不介意英文还是汉语。
当然你如果觉得哪些地方有分歧，可以给出一个List，纠正一下就完了。而且你所说的那些错误（包括中文官方的）有些并不是翻译上的错误，而是Poedit自动翻译产生的错误，你不要误解了，所以说每个版本都需要校对。
我觉得现在WP中文用户更应该交流的不仅仅是汉化，没必要让很多人在这上面浪费精力，毕竟不是什么好大的技术活，还有其他方面的一些比如插件、经验技巧、主题、脚本等等更值得交流，当然这都是形式，最终还是以内容为根本，提高Blog内容质量才是每一个Blogger应该头疼的事情。
TO DARK：我稍微改了一下样式，留言也打开了。BLACKLIST这东西不能做到很好的主动防御SPAM。是个头痛的问题，我的BLOG常常受到袭击。
TO猪团团：其实也没有什么好说的了，在翻译WORDPRESS上，我和DARK兄已经达成共识了，直到它放出正式版，这个工作才算真正有意义。现在只是玩票。我的那个汉化包，我已经放弃维护工作了。对这个工作唯一真正的贡献是写了一篇POEDIT的教程，让WIN32的用户们不必再去独立摸索使用GNU GETTEXT命令行工具的痛苦。
呵呵，我才到官方看到Ryan回复说修正了我说的一个Bug，并到CVS里面把文件拖下来试了，终于让我不再郁闷了，用户留言也不再每一次都要输入名字和油箱了（如果你本机记录了Cookie的话）。
至此，1.5-a-6没有什么大的Bug了。
好吧。那俺开始做自己的theme了。
做theme方面官方还是有比较详细的文档的。我想没什么困难。
到时候有交流需要再交流吧。
