Stjerm 又一嵌入桌面终端
本来都不想推荐这个东西了，似乎这个项目已经停止更新了，一来即使现在的版本也还够用，二来是在中文 Google 中居然没有一条结果。为人熟知的类似的嵌入桌面式终端大概有 Tilda、Guake、Yukuake（for KDE）等。此类能嵌入桌面的终端使用起来非常爽，尤其是宽屏显示器的话──屏幕上能够展示足够多的信息。
之前一直在 Gnome 中使用的 Tilda 0.95 版有一个让人几乎无法忍受的 Bug：99% 的时候热键呼出时无法一键取得屏幕焦点和输入焦点，通常要按三下热键才能取得焦点。为此我一直在寻找类似软件替代──只要有好用的，随时可以放弃 Tilda。
默认就有 Tab 及边框无法与桌面完全溶为一体的 Guake 首先被排除，而且 Guake 看上去除了网站样式有更新而程序一直都停留在 0.1 版本没见更新。
Stjerm 是无意间在 Archlinux 官方论坛上发现的，看上去作者也是 Arch 的用户，功能和 Tilda 差不多的情况下还能更小巧，没有使用 GUI 设置而是更为符合 Unix 哲学的文本配置。尽管当前仍是 2007年10月17日最后更新的版本，不过用起来还是比较顺手够用──还好没有什么让人受不了的 BUG。最后希望这个项目能如 Arch 论坛上的用户所希望的能够继续下去──至少在众多终端中能让我们多一种选择。
